Streets of today are becoming more and more congested with all types of vehicles, and car manufacturers produce cars at a fast pace, and it seems some motorists replace vehicles models just as quickly. In this scenario, it is safe to assume that there are plenty and still useful cars being junked or rotting away all across the globe. If you own one and have no use for it, why not donate it? Help someone by donating.

How to Donate

There are many charitable institutions that have these Donate-a-Car programs. First off, look in your neighborhood or city if there is one. They can even pick up your car if it’s not in running condition, plus, in most cases, they have a reward system for donations made.

Should there be no institutions near you, you can also try the internet. There are now plenty of internet sites that can process your donation and they usually have rewards for donating. You can also get a tax-deductible car donation receipt, which sometimes is worth more if you actually sell your car.

Most charitable institution requires the car to be in running or near to running condition to accept your donation. However, there are some who does not require it, and they can pick up your car, minimizing the hassle it can give you.

What are the Requirements?

As said earlier it is easier if your car is in running condition. One of the most important requirements in donating a car is the car title itself. If you have lost or do not have the car title, you can find institutions who do not require the title to be present or could help you in providing or authenticating the car.

You must provide, if picked up, the keys and other necessary items that are needed to run the car. In most cases, your car’s license plate is not necessary, but it is more convenient if you have it ready.

What are the Benefits of Donating?

First off, it will benefit not only yourself but also those whose charitable institution you had donated it to is helping. Remember that any sales made from your car and other car donators would go directly to whichever funding the charity is working on. Also, by donating your car, you can write it off as a tax deduction. After donating and processing the necessary paperwork, you can get a tax refund certificate.

Is your old car taking up space and messes up your yard? Well, this is one of the most helpful solutions you can do with it. Donating your car will not only give you a sense of pride and inner joy, it will help others, too.
